At Propstei Wislikofen, we attach great importance to the protection of your personal data. For this reason, you will find below information on personal data that we collect and may store when you visit propstei.ch. Protecting the privacy of our visitors is important to us, which is why we always process data in accordance with the applicable Swiss data protection legislation (DSG, entry into force on 01.09.2023) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, entry into force on 25.05.2018). We will also not sell personal information to third parties under any circumstances.

Note: The terms used in the following, such as “personal data”, “personal data” or their “processing”, refer to the definitions according to Art. 5 of the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA) and Art. 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Cookies and web beacons

We use cookies on our website (e.g. Google Analytics cookies) to measure information on the use and reach of the website. This is done on the basis of an overriding or legitimate interest (optimization of our online offer and the associated user experience) within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 lit. e DSG, or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. Based on information stored with cookies, we can, among other things, show you pop-up messages once during your visit or manage login functionalities to access certain content.

You can deactivate or individually allow/block the use of cookies from our website and/or third-party providers at any time in your browser settings. The following link describes in detail how you can deactivate cookies in your browser: https://de.wikihow.com/Cookies-deaktivieren. In addition, various programs (e.g. Norton Internet Security) also offer settings for managing cookies. Please note that deactivating cookies may mean that you can no longer use certain functions of our (and other) pages to the same extent.

Google Analytics

On propstei.ch we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies (see above). The information generated about your use of our website is usually transferred to regional Google data centers in Europe and possibly also in the USA and stored there.

In Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are used during data collection to determine location information (country, city, latitude and longitude of the city). They are deleted before data is stored in a data center or on a server.

On our behalf, Google will use the information provided to evaluate your use of the website, to compile aggregated reports on user activity on our website and to provide us with other related services. For more information about how Google uses cookies and what information they collect, you can visit the following pages: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/cookies/ or https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.

You can deactivate the use of Google Analytics at any time by installing a simple browser add-on. You can find the add-on at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

By default, all data at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) and advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies) is deleted from Google Analytics after 14 months since the last activity of the corresponding user in accordance with Art. 6 para. 4 FADP and Art. 5 para. 1 lit. e GDPR.

Collection of access data and log files

On the basis of overriding or legitimate interests (ensuring the proper operation of the website) within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 lit. e GDPR, or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR, we collect data about access to the server on which our website is located (so-called server log files). These log files store information such as the name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type (including version), the user’s operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider. Log file information is collected for security reasons (e.g. to investigate misuse or fraud) and stored for as long as is reasonable or necessary for evidence purposes.

Contact forms

On our website, we offer all visitors the opportunity to contact us via contact forms or order forms. When using the corresponding forms, personal information such as name, e-mail address and the corresponding messages and, depending on the type of form, address and telephone number are collected and stored. This data is stored and processed on the basis of explicit consent when the form is sent and is absolutely necessary for processing the inquiries (see also Art. 31 para. 2 lit. A FADP). The data is used exclusively for processing the corresponding requests.

Google reCAPTCHA

To protect the website from automated hacker attacks and spam requests, we also use Google’s reCAPTCHA service in various places (login pages, forms). This processes data such as the IP address, browser information, mouse and keyboard behavior, operating system and limited location and usage data in order to distinguish automated requests from those of human users. This process runs in the background, which is why the use of Google reCAPTCHA is indicated at the relevant points by appropriate notices (below the forms concerned or by a badge at the bottom right of the screen).

The use of reCAPTCHA is based on an overriding or legitimate interest (protection against hacker attacks and spam requests) within the meaning of Art. 31 para. 2 lit. e DSG, or Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR.

In some places on this website, third-party content, such as map material from Google Maps, is integrated. As a result, when the website is loaded, the third-party providers become aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Third-party content and services are only integrated in exceptional cases and always on the basis of overriding or legitimate interests to improve the user experience on our website.
